Features of John’s Gospel:
focuses on glory
evangelistic in purpose: it is written
that we may believe and have life
uses longer discourses as opposed
to parables
emphasizes seven signs as opposed
to miracles
includes seven “I AM”
sayings – including “I am the Bread of Life”
it can be considered a relational
and responsive gospel
For even more insight, take time to compare John 6 with the Synoptic
Gospels:
Matthew 14: 13-33;
Mark 6:32-51;
